Our 2nd week of school holidays was a nice, relaxing one. We will begin our last term of school in New Zealand on 2 May. It will be a sad one as we begin to say our good-byes and spend our last moments with our new friends. I really can't believe how fast this year has gone. We have learned so much from each other and about each other as well as so much about this new and amazing country. We've made friends from all over the world and even picked up a fun kiwi accent. What a blessed time and we are looking forward to our next phase in life back home in SC!
Who knew Ben was such a baker! Bobby Crocker is what I like to call him. :)
His homemade bread (which he whips up without measuring a single ingredient) is to die for! Absolutely delicious!
Memom, Ben's grandmother in Stanton, KY, never misses a holiday. She always sends the whole family cards and goodies, wherever we are in the world! Thank you, Memom, for making our Easter special with your sweet note and goodies.
On Thursday, Tanya and I took the crew of 6 to the Capital E for a fun "Songs of the Sea" show. It was awesome! 4 actors told stories of Maori legend of how the fish got its many colors, how the Wellington Harbour was formed and others. It was really a great show and kept the kids highly entertained with beautiful songs and lots of energy.
Afterwards we made a sea creature craft then headed over to the mirrors exhibit. The kids all loved the different mirrors and shapes they all made.
On our way to have some lunch, we found some water entertainment. These guys were skiing across a small body of water via stationary wench. It was pretty cool watching this guy do tricks and ski as he was being pulled across the water by this crank-thing. (sorry don't know what in the world it's called)
Party of 8! A full day in the city and we are still in one piece! We had so much fun with the Lomas family, as always!!
An Easter package from Mimi and Papaw! Thank you so much for the fun goodies!! The kids enjoyed every bit of it.
They love the color wonder, construction paper and Tangled movie and especially the chocolates!
A Charlottesville MOPS mommy friend, Crystal, posted this to her blog (www.littlebitfunky.com) and I decided to give them a try. Octopus is the name I gave these cute little guys!
They were a hit! Who knew spaghetti noodles and hot dogs could be so fun?!
Saturday, after our morning of soccer, we had a lovely ice cream from the TipTop place and a fun play on the Muritai playground. It was a gorgeous fall day - full of sunshine and warmth with just a slight nip in the air. Fab!
Fun was had by all!
