The Gruffalo

On Thursday, Tanya, Sinead, Jude and I took the kids (minus the school kids) to see The Gruffalo show at the Opera House in Wellington. It was fab! The book is just lovely and we watched the movie (which is just like the book) prior to seeing the live show. There were 3 performers that acted out the book and they were brilliantly funny and perfect for the story-telling. The kids loved it and the adults even more!

"A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood."

Jude and I took our gang on the ferry over to the big city. It turned out to be a gorgeous day and smooth sailing. In this pic of the harbour, the moon is still visible...

So I thought it'd be cute to take a pic of MaeMae "holding the moon". It didn't turn out like I wanted but you get the idea.

Waiting on our buddies, Jude and Johnny.

Jude brought her book on board and read it to the kids...they were getting so excited!!

We made it over to the Opera House with enough time to have a drink...a coffee, of course. :) MaeMae just spotted Sinead, Hugh and Emily in this picture.

Just waiting on one more fam!

The stage (which I illegally took a picture of, oops!)

We had 11 seats in a row!

The Opera House was beautiful, small and cozy.

After the fantastic show, we took a stroll over to a cafe to have a bite of lunch. This cafe was perfect as it had TOYS in a play area!

The only "group" photo I got and it's still missing Hugh and Emily.

Let me jump into one...squeeeeeze in!

Put a fork in me...I'm done!

After our wonderful lunch, we walked across the street to Moore Wilson's, an awesome wholesale grocery store. I only wish we had visited this place sooner! It's equivalent to our Sam's Club but on a much, much, much smaller scale. Still fab! Outside the store is a cool sculpture over a spring water source. Note the pic of MK and Johnny...:)

On our way back to the ferry, we stopped at Te Papa. Jude showed us a cool area of Te Papa called Bush City. We learned all sorts of new things on our trip to the city!

Uh-oh, still sleeping!

Johnny and MK had a ball together! Too cute! Someone's found a new beau! :) They stopped for a photo before going over the swinging bridge.

Gloworms in a cave in Bush City

A cool waterfall! Great photo (minus the blur - darned messed up autofocus!) of the crew.

I think Johnny has a new gal in his life!

Best Buddies!
