On Thursday, Tanya, Sinead, Jude and I took the kids (minus the school kids) to see The Gruffalo show at the Opera House in Wellington. It was fab! The book is just lovely and we watched the movie (which is just like the book) prior to seeing the live show. There were 3 performers that acted out the book and they were brilliantly funny and perfect for the story-telling. The kids loved it and the adults even more!

"A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood."
Jude and I took our gang on the ferry over to the big city. It turned out to be a gorgeous day and smooth sailing. In this pic of the harbour, the moon is still visible...
So I thought it'd be cute to take a pic of MaeMae "holding the moon". It didn't turn out like I wanted but you get the idea.
We made it over to the Opera House with enough time to have a drink...a coffee, of course. :) MaeMae just spotted Sinead, Hugh and Emily in this picture.
After the fantastic show, we took a stroll over to a cafe to have a bite of lunch. This cafe was perfect as it had TOYS in a play area!
After our wonderful lunch, we walked across the street to Moore Wilson's, an awesome wholesale grocery store. I only wish we had visited this place sooner! It's equivalent to our Sam's Club but on a much, much, much smaller scale. Still fab! Outside the store is a cool sculpture over a spring water source. Note the pic of MK and Johnny...:)
On our way back to the ferry, we stopped at Te Papa. Jude showed us a cool area of Te Papa called Bush City. We learned all sorts of new things on our trip to the city!
Johnny and MK had a ball together! Too cute! Someone's found a new beau! :) They stopped for a photo before going over the swinging bridge.
