Our time with Grandma and Grandpa was filled with fun, laughter, memories and good times. We stayed busy with school and the carpooling, exploring our "village" as well as Petone and even a trip to Wellington to hit the Korean grocery store.
There were a few days at the end of the first week where all 3 kids were sick. It was so nice to have the extra hands to deal with all those sick babies. :) It's a bit challenging being out-manned, as we usually are, and we always pull through but having good ol' grandma and grandpa to help made everything much better.
We were so blessed with out-of-the-ordinary amazing weather! Usually we have several bouts of rain throughout the week, but these 2 weeks proved that God was watching over us. He wanted to show how gorgeous this country truly is and laid on the sunshiny, even warm weather on us.
Funny: The day mom and dad left, actually right about the time they were taking off from Wellington, a front blew in with drizzles and cold! It was as if mom and dad were taking the good weather with them at that very moment. It was too cool.
Dad got up with the kids every morning and let me sleep in. It was heaven! And, he fixed their breakfasts, Calvin's lunch and even got them dressed. They both cooked and cleaned, washed clothes and helped us so much. They had to earn their stay, didn't they? :)
Welcome to Stonehaven! They loved showing grandma and grandpa their "river" and beautiful garden.
Mom usually stayed home with Caroline while dad and I made the school rounds. This particular day, after Caroline had woken from her nap, mom decided to go outside. Since I locked the door, she didn't know how to get out so she climbed out the window! She went first and Caroline climbed on the couch and mom lifted her out. When we got home, mom said she got locked out and I asked her how in the world she did because there was a door in the living room with a key in the lock to get outside. Slight oversight on mom's part - so she and CB enjoyed a good hour or so outside waiting for us. They had fun and even had a photoshoot. :)
Caroline loves to eat apples! Whole apples, skin, peel, core and all. It's hilarious to watch her walk around with this gnawed up apple in her hand as she bites a bit off, sucks out the juice and then spits out the rest on the floor. Actually, it's more she just opens her mouth and lets the apple sort of fall out. She leaves a trail of chewed apple everywhere she goes and if you try to take it away from her, you get the evil eye and some screaming.

One day after school, Tanya invited us over for a coffee and a play. The kids love playing at their house with the trampoline and spacious garden. (They call backyards "gardens" here and I think it sounds so much lovelier.) Mom and dad loved the view and enjoyed Tanya's company, as well as the kids.
Caroline has learned to slide on her own and loved this slide they borrowed from the Toy Library.

There's a cafe, Lemongrass Cafe, in the village owned by a Korean woman. I frequented this cafe often when we were taking the bus and Elizabeth was always so kind to us as we hung around for hours at a time. Mom enjoyed meeting Elizabeth and we all enjoyed a nice coffee while we waited to pick up the kids from school.
Caroline absolutely loves her grandpa. She was with him the moment he arrived until he left and even went upstairs the morning after they left to find him (and grandma too). She'd take him over me and Ben anytime. It was funny when mom hugged dad while he was holding her, she'd push mom away so she could have him all to herself. Too cute!
There were so many memories made these last 2 weeks! Wednesday morning, of the 2nd week of their visit, we headed out of town on holiday. Our time in York Bay was awesome and now it was on to see more of this gorgeous country.
