Halloween in New Zealand is nothing what it is here in America. People don't get all dressed up, you don't see tons of candy and H'ween paraphernalia in every store and it's not fall like it is here. AND, they don't have big, fat orange pumpkins! Not having a pumpkin to carve last year was like not having a turkey at Thanksgiving! (Which we didn't b/c the turkeys are uber expensive & it's an American holiday anyway!) It was a different holiday for us last year but one we did enjoy, especially with the Lomas's. However, this year, we are in no shortage of H'ween songs, programs at school, costumes, candy and decorations and we are ready to go all out for the big spooky holiday. I think we've even been talking about Halloween for the last month. I know it's such a commercialized holiday but it sure is fun! And, the kids are old enough to start having fun with it. So, bring on the commercialization and let the holidays begin! :)
Our "spook"tacular Halloween decor at grandma and grandpa's! We had a blast putting up the spooky spider webs, scary pumpkins and ghastly ghosts (both of which are stuffed with leaves and pinecones and strung in the trees). It was a beautiful fall day! Next on the list was to get some "punkins", as CB likes to call them.
These were supposed to go last but I didn't load them that way so you get the end product first!

We drove by the Methodist church in Orangeburg one fine day and the kids saw the front lawn full of punkins. We had to stop and go to the punkin patch!

On Facebook, we announced our 4th bundle with this picture..."we're thrilled to have a 4th to join our little pumpkin patch!" (or something thereabouts)
