Catch up

The last 2 weeks have been a little rough as we've battled sickness throughout the house so not too much news to post. We're almost well but Mary Katherine did miss 3 days of school last week. Hopefully this weekend we can rest up and get better. Monday is Labor Day so no school or work for many places. Here are a few pictures from the last couple weeks.

Riding the scooter we picked up at the Toy Library. They provided lots of fun for everyone!

Calvin really misses his bike and scooter. He was so excited to get these and started doing tricks, like the jump below.

For the 4th term, Mary Katherine is doing gymnastics on Wednesdays for 45 minutes. It's a parent helper class which is a little tough since I have Caroline with me, but MaeMae loves it and has so much fun on the equipment. Hopefully next term she can do a more advanced class. She's really got some talent, I think, and could do well if she decided to take it up as a sport. We'll see! She's pretty cute in her new gymnastics outfit!

This little "river" makes the most beautiful sounds for us to enjoy. The sound of moving water is so calming and it is a constant reminder of God's beauty.

We've made alot of homemade toys for the kids and they love the fishing poles their daddy made them with sticks, string and flys. They were disappointed they didn't catch any fish but they are gonna keep on trying.

At low tide, you can find all sorts of wonderful sea creatures. Here Calvin picked up one of hundred's of snails clinging tot he rocks.

Here is a little sea urchin that washed up. It was still alive and awaiting the tide to come back in to make his way back home.

Caroline and her little buddy and our neighbor, Sofiya. They love to play together and Sofiya loves to give Caroline hugs. She are really sweet together and have these special moments of play while the big kids are at school.

Calvin and Mary Katherine love to climb on the window sills and so Caroline must follow her big sibs. She climbs on anything that she can and is so proud of herself.

MaeMae and her best bud and our neighbor, Lily-Jean. They have so much fun together and are reading books together before I take them to kindie.

Caroline is our sunshine. From the moment she wakes up until she goes to bed, she's full of laughter, energy and smiles. Calvin loves to help Caroline out of the portacot. He jumps in with her and lifts her over the side and she falls onto his bed, climbs down and comes a-running, full speed into the kitchen. It's so sweet.

Caroline was quiet and I looked all around for her...found her under the countertop bar, having good ol' time!

Calvin brought home his first 2 certificates from school on Friday, October 22. One was for his birthday and the blue one was for being a good friend. He was so excited! They are learning so much in school. They started phonics the first day of school as well as reading beginner books. He brings home a book to read everyday and we also read our own books. We record them in his Reading Journal and for every 25 straight nights of reading, he earns a sticker. He's super excited about earning his first one. They are also learning numbers to 1 to 20, backwards and forwards, math, poetry, art and so much more. He is loving it and he was really ready for this big boy step.
